Walter Russell Mead est le Ravenel B. Curry III Distinguished Fellow in Strategy and Statesmanship au Hudson Institute, le Global View Columnist au Wall Street Journal et le James Clarke Chace Professor of Foreign Affairs and Humanities au Bard College de New York.

Il est également membre de l’Aspen Institute Italy et membre du conseil d’administration d’Aspenia. Avant de rejoindre Hudson, M. Mead était membre du Council on Foreign Relations en tant que chercheur principal Henry A. Kissinger pour la politique étrangère des États-Unis. Il est l’auteur de nombreux livres, dont le très reconnu Special Providence: American Foreign Policy and How It Changed the World (Alfred A. Knopf, 2004). Le prochain livre de M. Mead s’intitule The Arc of A Covenant: The United States, Israel, and the Future of the Jewish People.
