L’annonce a été faite lors du match de la quatrième semaine de la NFL entre les Dallas Cowboys et les Green Bay Packers. La NFL et Apple ont conjointement révélé que le rappeur et chanteur portoricain, Bad Bunny, sera la tête d’affiche du spectacle de la mi-temps du Super Bowl 2026. Cette nouvelle marque une étape importante pour la représentation de la culture latino-américaine sur la scène mondiale du football américain.
Bad Bunny devra faire suite à une performance remarquée de Kendrick Lamar lors du Super Bowl 59, un spectacle qui a captivé un public record. Selon Billboard, la prestation de Lamar a été la plus regardée de toute l’histoire des spectacles de la mi-temps du Super Bowl.
Avant l’officialisation de Bad Bunny, des rumeurs persistantes circulaient quant à la possible participation de Taylor Swift, la chanteuse mondialement connue et compagne du joueur des Chiefs de Kansas City, Travis Kelce. Interrogé à ce sujet, Roger Goodell a déclaré :
« Nous aimerions toujours que Taylor se produise. C’est un talent spécial et unique. Et évidemment, elle serait la bienvenue à tout moment. »
